Patricia Rhodes-Kelly
Patricia is an ambitious individual who wears many hats but holds the title of Academic Program Specialist with the Classics Department at the University of Maryland College Park. Patricia obtained a MBA and a MS in Environmental Management both from University of Maryland University College (UMUC); and a BA in Communication with a minor in Fine Arts also from UMUC. In 2009, Patricia completed the Leadership Development Training course (LDI) for Executive Management, at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Patricia has managed departments, events and organizations; and has experience in customer service, and office and staff management.
As an Academic Program Specialist for the Classics Department, Patricia manages the office by serving as the principal recipient and liaison for all reports from Program offices. She assists in the processing and tracking of promotion packages for tenured professors, reviews financial reports and manages progress reports of students and manages Federal Work Study Students, and monitors contractors for accuracy and completion of assigned and requested tasks, while ensuring office administrative processes are effective with high performance support. Patricia provides administrative support for the Chair and faculty to ensure effective office operations and she maintains the Student Information System (SIS) for the Department and possesses a comprehensive working knowledge of the organization and its function within the University.
In Patricia's spare times she can be found participating in various community outreach programs with M-NCPPC and the University of Maryland's Maryland Day. Patricia's interest are swimming, singing, dancing and acting. Yearly, you can see her in performances around and about the DC Metropolitan area. She performs yearly in a theatrical performanace titled Christmas Celebration 2011.
