Laura Messenheimer, B.A. 2009:
Right now I'm working on my Master's degree in Linguistics at the University of Cambridge. I have had some contact with the Classics department here; I even got to meet James Clackson, which was very exciting because I had used the book he co-authored, "Blackwell's History of the Latin Language," for Dr. Hallett's History and Development of the Latin Language class. Last term I took a class on Linear B, which was really fun. Currently, I'm taking a relaxed, informal Latin for non-Classicists class, too, just so I don't forget all my Latin! Also, for your amusement, here is a sign that is attached to a railing outside some student housing- the Classical tradition is alive and well here!  [posted March 8, 2010]
